North Salem Street Re-Surfacing Work Underway, More Planned

Per the North Carolina Department of Transportation Division Five Office, North Salem Street, starting at the intersection of Hunter Street and proceeding north to the US Hwy. 64 overpass, is currently scheduled to be re-surfaced in the spring of 2009. An advance engineering crew will be inspecting the section and performing preliminary patching of the areas most in need of attention this fall in preparation for the job; to-date, some of the rough patches and bumps have already been sanded down. Once completed, one of the major gateways into our town will once again be a pleasant experience for first-time visitors and residents.
