WRAL.com is reporting a massive gang-related fight involving 200 teenagers that took place around 8 p.m. Saturday night at the Triangle Town Center mall in North Raleigh. The TV station’s website reports that witnesses said the fight began on the mall’s upper level and spilled outside. Several law enforcement agencies, including State Troopers, Raleigh police, and Wake County sheriff’s deputies restored by about 9 p.m. One officer was injured, and a 15-year-old was stabbed.
Apex has no mall persea, but rather has a major retail shopping complex at the intersection of highways 55 and 64 comprised of 750,000-square foot Beaver Creek Crossings and 450,000-square foot Beaver Creek Commons which includes a large movie theater complex and numerous restaurants in addition to dozens of high-traffic retail destinations. That square footage total — 1.2 million — is comparable to that of the Triangle Town Center, which leases 1,273,202 million square feet of retail and restaurant space.
