Fall Celebration at the Garden Hut Saturday, Sept. 27

Celebrate the arrival of Fall at the Garden Hut with a day of gardening and family friendly activities on Saturday, September 27. At 10 a.m. take a Plant Walk with Nelsa Cox. Fall is a great time to plant and horticulturist Nelsa Cox will show you some of her favorite plants. Free, but registration is requested. Then, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. join in the Community Drumming & Hoola Hoop Dancing. No experience necessary. Extra drums & hoops will be provided, or bring your own for family fun! Free. Register early for a class on Making Hypertufa Containers that will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Ging McCay, president of the Fuquay-Varina Garden Club, will show how to make a light weight planter using a mixture of common materials. The cost $50, which includes materials; preregistration required. Class size is limited. The Garden Hut is located at 1004 Old Honeycutt Road in Fuquay-Varina.
