NBC-17 is reporting that the Apex Town Council has voted to spend approximately $72,000 to construct two parking lots near historic downtown. This action is being taken to alleviate parking stresses on downtown businesses caused in part by the rehabilitation of the Apex Police station which required the Town taking over two public lots for the duration of the construction, which is believed to take up to 18 months. The new construction will provide 100 parking spots, 20 paved and 80 unpaved.
