The Nature of Art in Holly Springs

Saturday, November 8 from 11am - 3pm
The Nature of Art in Holly Springs invites the public to an open house on Saturday, November 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The free event features a smorgasbord of local artists demonstrating their work, a creative cake contest, door prizes, and good food.

Artist demonstrations begin at 11 a.m. with colored pencil artist Carol Stein. Potter Michele Marlin follows, then Jeannette Barringer demos watercolor batik, and Sandra Wills and Tish McDermott of Broads & Beads show jewelry making. Luz and John Frye will talk about the John C. Campbell Folk School.

Seven local artists, including Nich Owen a student at Holly Springs high school, will compete in a creative cake contest. Katie Dies, owner of Stickboy Bread Co. will judge for tastiness and creativity at 12 noon. Cakes will be on display at 11 a.m. After the judging, everyone is invited to enjoy the tasty creations along with other refreshments.
